Accessibility Statement

Collins Dentistry & Aesthetics is committed to providing patients, visitors, companions, and members of our community with meaningful and equitable access to our dental offices, website, online forms, communications, and services.

Our Commitment

Respect, Independence And Equal Access

We want every person who interacts with Collins Dentistry & Aesthetics to be treated with dignity, respect, privacy, and independence. Accessibility is considered in the way we provide information, communicate with patients, maintain our website, and deliver care at our two Spokane-area offices.

Digital Access

We work to make our website, forms, navigation, images, written content, and interactive features usable with commonly available browsers and assistive technologies.

Communication Access

We will work with patients and companions to identify reasonable communication aids, alternate formats, or communication methods when they are needed.

Office Access

Patients may contact either office before a visit to discuss mobility, communication, sensory, service-animal, or other accommodation needs.

Website And Digital Access

Building A More Usable Digital Experience

Our website is reviewed and improved as technology, content, and accessibility guidance evolve. Because websites are continually updated, accessibility is an ongoing process rather than a one-time project.

Accessibility Standard

Collins Dentistry & Aesthetics aims to align its website with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines, currently WCAG 2.2 Level AA. These guidelines address access for people with visual, hearing, mobility, speech, cognitive, neurological, and other disabilities.

This statement reflects our accessibility goals and ongoing efforts. It should not be interpreted as a representation that every page, document, integration, or third-party feature is free from every accessibility barrier at all times.

Website Practices

As part of our continuing accessibility work, we consider features and practices that may include:

  • Keyboard-accessible navigation and controls
  • Logical headings and page structure
  • Text alternatives for meaningful images
  • Readable text and sufficient color contrast
  • Visible keyboard focus indicators
  • Forms with understandable labels and instructions
  • Error messages that identify how to correct a problem
  • Support for browser text enlargement and zoom
  • Reduced-motion preferences where motion is used
  • Captions or alternatives for meaningful media

Assistive Technology

The website is intended to support current versions of commonly used browsers and assistive technologies, including screen readers, screen magnification, speech-recognition tools, keyboard navigation, switch devices, and browser-based accessibility settings.

Results can vary depending on the device, browser, operating system, assistive technology, browser extension, or combination of tools being used. Keeping your browser and assistive technology updated may improve compatibility.

Alternative Access

When a website page, form, document, video, image, or other feature is difficult to use, please contact us. We will make a reasonable effort to provide the requested information, complete the relevant process with you, or offer another accessible communication method.

You do not need to disclose a diagnosis. Please describe the barrier, the page or feature involved, and the type of assistance that would be useful.

Third-Party Content

Some website functions may be provided by third parties, including scheduling systems, maps, forms, videos, payment tools, social-media platforms, or embedded applications. We may not control every aspect of those third-party systems.

We encourage our vendors to provide accessible experiences. If a third-party feature creates a barrier, contact us so we can help provide the information or service through an alternative method when reasonably possible.

Effective Communication

Communication That Works For You

We will work with patients and companions to identify reasonable communication methods based on the circumstances, the requested service, and the individual’s needs.

Auxiliary Aids And Services

When reasonably necessary for effective communication, we will discuss appropriate auxiliary aids, services, or alternate communication methods. Depending on the situation, this may include written communication, accessible electronic materials, large-print information, interpreter coordination, captioned content, or another suitable accommodation.

Advance notice is helpful for accommodations that require scheduling or third-party coordination, but we will consider requests whenever they are made.

Relay Calls

We accept calls placed through Telecommunications Relay Services, including calls initiated through 711, in the same manner as other telephone calls.

Companions And Support Persons

A patient may be accompanied by a companion, support person, or other individual when permitted by applicable law, patient privacy requirements, safety considerations, and clinical circumstances.

We will communicate directly with the patient whenever possible and will respect the patient’s preferences regarding the involvement of a companion or support person.

Physical Office Access

Supporting An Accessible Visit

Accessibility needs can vary. Contact the office before your visit so our team can discuss available options and help plan a comfortable appointment.

Personal Assistive Devices

Patients and visitors are welcome to use personal assistive devices that support mobility, communication, hearing, vision, or other access needs, provided their use does not create an unavoidable safety risk or interfere with necessary clinical care.

When a particular device cannot be used in a specific treatment area, we will work with the patient to identify a reasonable alternative when one is available.

Service Animals

Trained service animals are welcome in patient-accessible areas as permitted by applicable law. Access may be limited in areas where the presence of an animal would create a legitimate safety, infection-control, or clinical concern.

Please contact the office before your appointment when you have questions about bringing a service animal into a treatment area.

Reasonable Modifications

We will consider reasonable modifications to policies, procedures, scheduling, communication methods, or service delivery when needed to provide meaningful access, unless a requested modification would fundamentally alter the service or create an undue burden or direct safety risk.

Temporary Interruptions

When an accessibility-related feature or service is temporarily unavailable, we will make a reasonable effort to provide notice, explain available alternatives, and restore the affected feature or service as soon as reasonably practical.

Staff Awareness

Our team is encouraged to respond to accessibility requests respectfully, protect patient privacy, avoid assumptions about a person’s abilities, and involve the patient in identifying an effective accommodation.

Text Message Accessibility

SMS Is Optional

Text messaging may be offered for appointment reminders, marketing messages, and general two-way communication. SMS is an optional communication method and is not required as a condition of receiving dental care.

A patient who cannot or does not wish to use SMS may contact the practice by telephone, through the website contact form, by mail, or in person.

  • Consent: Providing a mobile number does not automatically enroll you. Consent must be provided through the applicable opt-in process.
  • Frequency and charges: Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply.
  • Stopping messages: Reply STOP to opt out of future SMS messages.
  • Support: Reply HELP for support or call either dental office.
  • Emergencies: Do not use SMS or a website form for a medical or life-threatening emergency. Call 911 when emergency assistance is required.
  • Privacy: Do not send sensitive personal, financial, or health information by ordinary text message unless specifically instructed through an approved secure process.
Accessibility Feedback

Tell Us About A Barrier

Feedback helps us identify barriers and prioritize improvements. Please tell us what happened, where the issue occurred, and what type of access or alternative format would help.

You may also submit accessibility feedback through our online contact form . Please do not include private health information, payment details, Social Security numbers, or other sensitive information in an ordinary website message.
